The Palisade Asia-Pacific offices and training facility are located in Sydney. Palisade Asia-Pacific provides sales, order fulfillment, technical support, and training services to customers in Australia, Japan, New Zealand, Hong Kong, Indonesia, and other countries in the region.

VP of Finance

ITHACA, NY

The VP of Finance will provide direction and coordination of all major aspects of the Company’s financial systems and processes to support the achievement of the Company’s financial targets and strategic growth initiatives. This is an exciting opportunity to help an established technology company achieve new levels of growth by building out a new, next-level financial and accounting function that will form the foundation for strategic initiatives going forward.

In addition, the position will oversee the company’s operations function, including order fulfillment.

Duties will include:

  • Closing the books (monthly); providing the Income Statement, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow info to internal management team, Board of Directors, auditors, and banks/third party lenders; and reporting financial status and trends of the business.
  • Providing analysis of historical, current, and projected financial and operating results to develop recommendations for strategy and tactical improvements.
  • Analyzing and making recommendations for the capital structure of the business
  • Managing processes for financial forecasting, budgets, and consolidation of financial reporting.
  • Managing operational processes in order fulfillment.
  • Identifying and implementing the use of key performance indicators to enhance business operations.
  • Ensuring effective internal controls are in place and compliance with GAAP
  • Ensuring compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulatory laws
  • Complying with rules for financial and tax reporting, including initiatives for determining sales and use tax liability.
  • Leading (with IT) ERP systems upgrades
  • Leading/coordinating the annual budget planning process for all aspects of the Company.
  • Coordination, communication, and overall responsibility for the annual Audit process
  • Handling communications with Shareholders, third party lenders, auditors, external tax authorities, and others as appropriate.
  • Coordinating due diligence for acquisitions and integration of financial and administrative functions for acquired companies.
  • Working with senior executives and Shareholders to identify and execute on strategic initiatives.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

To ensure success in this role, it is imperative the candidate possess the following experience and qualifications:

  • 10+ years of finance and accounting experience with continually increasing responsibility;
  • 2+ years of financial leadership role;
  • Experience building, mentoring, motivating, and leading a team
  • Experience implementing ERP and/or other key systems upgrades
  • Superior analytical skills through use of Excel;
  • Strong background of financial reporting and understanding of GAAP;
  • Solid understanding ASC 605 / 606 as it pertains to Software Revenue Recognition;
  • Knowledge of IT systems and processes;
  • BA/BS Accounting, Finance or Financial Management.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

In addition, the following qualifications are considered beneficial and important to the role:

  • CPA;
  • Public Accounting experience;
  • Experience with development and implementation of software industry KPI’s and process improvement techniques;
  • Experience with Mergers & Acquisitions, including integration of acquired businesses.
  • Experience with reporting to Private Equity investors
  • Experience building a financial and accounting function (systems, processes, team) within an organization (as opposed to having always maintained an established existing function)

Territory Sales Executive

AUSTRALIA

Palisade, makers of @RISK and DecisionTools Suite risk analysis software, has an opening for Territory Sales Executive, with a focus on the government, insurance, finance, and oil/gas sectors. @RISK and DecisionTools Suite software uses techniques like Monte Carlo simulation and decision trees to help users quantitatively analyze risk and make better decisions in financial analysis, project scheduling, cost estimation, capital reserves estimation, pricing, R&D, and many, many other applications. The software works in Microsoft Excel, thus the user base is very broad. Palisade is based in Ithaca, NY which offices in London and Rio de Janeiro.

This position is meant to be based the Sydney area. Melbourne and Brisbane would also be considered. The position will have responsibility for developing the market and closing sales for customers large and small Australia and New Zealand. The position would also service our large, existing customer base. Palisade clients around the world include various sectors such as: government, manufacturing, construction/engineering, energy, utilities, healthcare, and many more.

REQUIREMENTS

The basic requirements for the position are to very proactively seek out and close new business to meet territory sales targets. This is done by maintaining a strong and consistent presence in the market, getting in front of people, devouring leads, building relationships, and asking for the sale.

  • Prospect new accounts, generate interest, qualify, develop and close new business.
  • Work independently to meet and exceed revenue targets and goals assigned to the territory.
  • Develop an overall business plan leading to the deployment of a well-executed team selling effort into the assigned territory. Team will include prequal sales support, corporate management, and technical sales engineers.
  • Grow sales opportunities generated from marketing activities, and generate sales opportunities independently through leads, cold calls, market research, and networking.
  • Operate independently and effectively manage the sales cycle from opportunity identification through close.
  • Provide accurate sales opportunity pipelines on a monthly basis.
  • Utilize references and industry contacts within the territory to increase sales.
  • Work with clients to create corporate proposals that include software licenses, software maintenance, and software training - all tailored to client's particular needs.
  • Learn client needs and budget. Upsell client to best solution for their needs. Do not simply answer the questions asked.
  • Travel to client sites for meetings and to perform corporate sales demonstrations.
  • Travel to, participate in, and help arrange software roadshows, conferences, chapter events, and other similar marketing events.
  • The job is 30% travel, not including local client visits.

QUALIFICATIONS

Sales
We are looking for a self-starter who can work with little direction, is efficient, hungry, and can never have too many leads to devour. This person should have enterprise/corporate sales experience, and know how to build relationships with and negotiate with large organizations. Experience with Marketo and Microsoft Dynamics a plus.

Technical
In addition, the candidate needs the ability to grasp and demonstrate a technical/statistical product and be able to explain its value proposition in easy-to-understand terms. Thorough technical expertise is not required, but the ability to explain fundamental features, benefits, and product differentiators is.

Personal
The successful candidate will be flexible and adapt to changes in the market, or to changes the company makes in response to the market. This person will be friendly, outgoing, and a team player who acts in the company’s, and the team’s best interests.

Summary of Qualifications

  • Three or more years’ experience with exceptional track record of selling software solutions to corporate clients. Established relationships are a big plus.
  • Track record of exceeding quotas year after year.
  • Individual must possess excellent communication / presentation skills and ability to interact with all levels within customer and partner organizations.
  • Exceptional selling, negotiating, prospecting and presentation skills are mandatory.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and adequately communicate progress back to management.
  • Strong initiative and go-to attitude for owning the territory.
  • Flexible nature and humility to accept criticism, boundaries, and changes as required.
  • Team player who acts in company and team’s interests.
  • Some statistical understanding. The software is very quantitative and statistically oriented, so candidate should be able to understand software well enough to demonstrate it to clients. Familiarity with @RISK, Monte Carlo simulation, or probabilistic analysis a plus.
  • Strong Excel skills, and understanding of basic financial models.
  • Resides in the targeted geography.

Regional Sales Manager – Southern Europe

EUROPE

Palisade, makers of @RISK and DecisionTools Suite risk analysis software, has an opening for its southern European territory. This position will have responsibility for developing the market and closing sales for corporate customers, both large & small in southern Europe. Our clients span many industries, particularly: manufacturing, banking, insurance, construction/engineering, energy, transport, and utilities. With an existing diverse and stable customer base, this position offers the individual a chance to move into a secure role, with great potential to grow!

DESCRIPTION

  • Proactively seek out and follow up on all new corporate client sales leads.
  • Devise tailored, customised software and training solutions for corporate clients. Work with clients to create corporate proposals that include software licenses, software maintenance, and software training - all tailored to client's particular needs.
  • Travel to client sites and perform corporate sales demonstrations.
  • Give product demonstrations in person, over the web, and at events. (European based consultants are on hand for more technical presentations)
  • Travel to, participate in, and help arrange software workshops and other similar marketing events.
  • Take incoming sales calls and email inquiries. Take orders of all sizes and amounts for software and services.
  • With all customers engage in dialogue to understand requirements for the best combination of software and services to meet their needs.
  • Up sell existing clients to the most appropriate software/training solution to solve their problems, and meet their needs.
  • Commission from day one, with no cap!

REQUIREMENTS

We are looking for someone who is a self-starter, can work with little direction, and is not afraid to get out and talk to people. In addition, the candidate needs the ability to grasp and demonstrate a technical/statistical product and be able to explain its value proposition, and business applications in easy-to-understand terms. True technical expertise is not required, but the ability to explain basic features, benefits and applications is.

  • Language requirement, French, English (Fluent) & Spanish to a good business level ideal
  • Bachelor's degree. MBA (or equivalent experience) preferred.
  • Three or more years’ experience selling software to corporate clients.
  • Some statistical background. The software is quantitative and statistically oriented, so candidate should be able to understand software well enough to demonstrate it to clients. More importantly the business applications it is used for (cost estimation, NPV, risk registers & schedule risk analysis to name but a few). Familiarity with @RISK, Monte Carlo simulation, or probabilistic analysis a plus.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and adequately communicate progress back to management.
  • Flexible nature - able to adapt to different job duties as required.
  • The job will entail travel, 1 week a month as a guide.
